/2 The official policy of Trump supporters is that they support anything this government does.

Treat them accordingly.

The official policy of the government of the United States of America is that they will murder anyone they want, that they will tell any lie necessary to justify that murder, and that no one who resists them has any rights they are bound to respect.

Yup. The Presidency, Congress, and Supreme Court don't truly reflect the will of the American people, but to anyone abroad, the simple fact is that all of these entities are totally fine with shattering our European allegiances to steal Greenland just for the heck of it. They're right to be pissed.
This man is talking about stealing a country at gunpoint from nations the US is allied with. Of course Europeans hate us. You would feel the same way if you were in their place. American voters put this man in power, he didn’t seize it this time.

The idea that there are no protests in the US and no one is standing up to Trump is proving incredibly hard to kill over here in Germany. It’s become dogma, utterly detached from empirical reality.

I wonder if the people who keep talking like that understand they’re perpetuating regime propaganda.

Even after Trump is gone, the world will remember that he threatened to forcibly seize the territory of a peaceful democratic ally, and our institutions failed to immediately remove him. That makes US dangerously unreliable, not just one senile gangster.
His not being impeached by the end of the business day as a result of this threat is as much a problem as the threat itself. It’s not just Trump that the world has to worry about, it’s a GOP that supports him and Democrats who suck their thumbs and refuse to even discuss pushing to remove him

The choice is impeachment and removal or calamity for the United States. I don't see how anybody watching Trump's speech in Davos can draw any other conclusion. He's a senile madman.

The abolitionist movement was attacked for the prevalence of white women among their ranks (and had some vicious internal fights about whether to include or exclude them from abolitionist organizing).
Demonizing specifically white women who act in solidarity with racial minorities isn’t new. Here’s a southern political cartoon depicting Harriet Beecher Stowe, published in 1853. Surrounded by devils, she‘s holding a book titled “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” Subtitle: “I Love the Blacks.”

The way shows like Adolescence and attacks on girls and trans kids are being used to isolate marginalized people and justify expanding state & corporate control of the internet needs more scrutiny. The answer isn’t bans but dismantling the systems that profit from stoking fear, anger & division.
Brianna Ghey was targeted by classmates who knew her offline. Online, she made friends and a community, and was making content to help other trans kids like her.

This is a grieving mother pushing for legislation that would have further isolated her trans child, that is supported by transphobes.

The X comments are mainly from people who clearly never saw—and would never see—the show.

If it weren't for the very real effect of this sort of hate, the responses would solely be mocked for the imbecility that they are.

"British history is not a parody for you to take the piss out of!"

Lol.

The group of people with the worst understanding of what theater is and its purpose and promise for the world deciding to attack Six of all shows is mind-meltingly stupid.

It's awful for Dylan and the show and theater, but, that said, this seems to be a "toxic X" issue as much as anything else.
So apparently Dylan Mulvaney got cast in a Broadway musical... which resulted in transphobes losing their minds and threatening to "Bud Light" the show... and now the show's Twitter page is locked down. Cool cool.

one of the political theoretical issues with the unitary executive, as i see it, is that it rethinks the presidency as an institution for the pursuit of a partisan political agenda, rather than as an office that imposes a duty — caretaker of the constitution.

Everything Trump says here is verifiably untrue. During this period of time the number of US installations on Greenland went from 17 to 1 as a result of US determinations that they were not needed.
