I know a fellow American working for a European civil service (American ally) who got detained and questioned for over six hours flying back to the states for the holiday because “why don’t you live and work in the USA”

idk I don’t have a conclusion, this shit is just wild
“France condemns the visa restriction measures taken by the United States against Thierry Breton and four other European figures. These measures amount to intimidation and coercion aimed at undermining European digital sovereignty”

Interesting and important 9th Circuit decision about the free speech rights of professors at public schools, just won by FIRE, likely to be subject of culture war disputes.

Can you use a oral small molecule for weight maintenance after losing weight on Zepbound or Wegovy? Phase 3 trial results from Eli Lilly today suggest yes*

Minimal weight change change going from Wegovy to orforglipron, +2lbs

~10lb weight gain going from Zepbound to orforglipron

Not bad!
The #weightloss maintenance data for the small molecule oral GLP-1 medicine orforglipron in the ATTAIN‑MAINTAIN trial has arrived #obesity investor.lilly.com/news-release...

It's live, it's 6,000 words and it still feels incomplete but it's done! GLP1 and the kidneys! Glucagon, vasopressin, urea, sodium, macula densa, and so much more. If you like it please share it. The goal of this was to bring together decades of research. The earliest paper I used is from 1958!

I left a few things on the proverbial cutting room floor because the article was already enormous, but here's a couple things I left out This is prediabetic patients on tirzepatide WITHOUT renal disease and separated by GFR <90 or >90. Tirzepatide still improves GFR slope over 176 weeks!

Truth
From my own niche: institutions of higher education should stop chasing trends, work internally to assert a set of values, and then build curriculum around those values.
just a collection of "inevitable" multi-billion dollar tech that was going to be the future of everything until everyone in the audience who was supposed to just get on board said "lol no"

THEY'RE HERE!

Recordable Book Buddies are 9" tall and can be attached to the back cover of any book.

What do they do?

You can record your voice reading or responding to a passage, then sticker the page with the matching number.

Read aloud to someone you love!

The thing you need to understand about the Right is that they are absolutely fine just plain burning down higher education if taking it over ideologically doesn’t work. They’re perfectly happy reducing it to ashes.

My full thoughts on today's incredible retatrutide news. On a deeper dive the side effects are NOT as bad as they first appear and same with the discontinue rate. But the results are unprecedented in medical history. We've matched bariatric surgery results for weight.

People keep wondering why they're going after Venezuela. It's because they want to do regime change and control its oil, then use a big tract of land there to keep a tax free "network state" that looks like Dubai but operates like Rhodesia. They are saying this out loud! Believe them!

Eloralintide. You'll be hearing a lot more about it in the next year. Selective Amylin agonist with almost zero calcitonin activity. 16-20% weight loss with plateau at 48 weeks. 3/6/9mg comparable side effects to 5mg of tirzepatide (aka VERY tolerable/minimal side effects)

If we have been listening, Trumpistan has been telling us since he came into office...

CUSMA will not be renewed.

If you own a business, you need to diversify right now.

Stop buying US products.

Stop buying cars manufactured in the US.

Stop visiting the US.
