This kind of development is why I've moved my writing account to the myatproto.social server for non-Black users run by Blacksky, and also taken out a subscription to Blacksky. It's a question for me of wanting more consistent and reliable moderation than Bsky provide.

Rigid thinking is not a universal autistic trait. In fact, some autistic people are more cognitively flexible than most nonautistic people.

So why is cognitive rigidity mentioned in the autism section of the DSM?

💛What actually matters the most is that you make more sense to yourself & the rest of your life makes more sense & regardless of diagnosis if meeting autistic support needs helps improve your quality of life then chefs kiss.

When I took it, I realized that my arguing with every single question as to what does it mean specifically because it’s not an easy measurable answer and I felt a strong urge to rewrite the questions properly… was likely a major indicator…

Anyone can take the RAADS test online, which is what drs use to diagnose. therefore self diagnosis is valid. 💯

Also, if you find yourself arguing with every question on the RAADS test because they were likely written by Neurotypical people, I’m just saying…. 👀

I wish I didn’t have to say this but…

If someone tells you they’re autistic and you find that hard to believe, it might be because:

- They don’t feel safe enough to unmask around you
- Your knowledge of autism is limited

Arguing won’t help. Kindness, curiosity, and listening to understand, will ❤️
