I truly need "AI Won't Stand in Authentic Wonder" swag sold in the Vatican gift shop. Also, I will need it on a tote and shirt.
Pope Leo XIV told students not to use artificial intelligence for homework, saying that AI ‘won’t stand in authentic wonder before the beauty of God’s creation.’

If a politician:

-Has never cared at all about whales before;

-Is in the pocket of big oil, an industry which has a financial incentive to oppose alternative energy;

and

-is a well-documented liar,

You don't have to take their "we have to stop offshore wind to save whales" claims seriously.

From a solid thread about AI and fear of failure.
And because almost everything about your life feels precarious, why choose to do challenging things? If you associate challenges with failure and failure with pain, *of course* you're going to look for unchallenging shortcuts.

When I see people saying "oh I don't want to do what TOURISTS do I need to do what the LOCALS do" I want to ask: go to work? go to the grocery store? watch Netflix after a long week?

I mean sure, get advice from locals on what to eat and where but sheesh

Again, I cannot stand Amazon or Bezos. However, because _Strike_ comes out in paperback in 2 months, they are fire selling it in hardback for $2.84. So if you want it, you can indeed get it for the price of a cup of coffee. www.amazon.com/Strike-Labor...

So this happened in Oslo yesterday. Four articulated buses got stuck in a roundabout.

Much as I hate the headaches around insurance and cost and scheduling, I find medical visits themselves deeply comforting. A series of experts in a calm, quiet space listen to what I say, ask thoughtful questions, and sometimes even solve problems. Much better than when I was younger.

I am half tempted to just write "Liberal Currents is good" to see if I get put on their list of endorsements.

But also Liberal Currents is good and if you are looking for an outlet to support with your money that is actually committed to liberal values, Liberal Currents is it.
Several new 'liberal' publications have launched in recent years, sometimes raising millions before writing a word, sometimes getting glossy profiles, then often devolving into weakness.

None of that's true about us. Maybe we should go raise at least a half million: www.gofundme.com/f/the-libera...

People really need to get their heads around the difference between saying something in public and saying something for public comment

I'd say "you know better than to do this at coffee shops" but the number of live updates of strangers' conversations we've seen over the years
"Don't post if you don't want random strangers to reply" remains one of the most most hilariously illogical things I have seen people say on social media.

Allow me to list several other examples of "Do not allow me to perceive a thing if I cannot personally interact with it" logic at play:
