Also good to remember: the flu itself is really bad and a deadly illness for many thousands of people every year. To say that a disease is "just like the flu" is to say that it is a very serious and costly illness.

The Canadian Pediatric Society, instead of psychologizing diseases, could be doing ANYTHING about this: over 90% of kids in Canada born in fall 2017 onwards don’t have a SINGLE COVID vaccine. They are totally unvaccinated against COVID. That’s everyone in gr 1 on down.
The overwhelming majority - over 90% - of kids in Canada who were <5 in fall 2021 - have not received even 1 single COVID vaccine. Even now in late fall 2024 when some of these kids are turning 7 and in gr 2. Over 90% of that age group is totally unvaccinated.
