koreans really were ahead of the curve here
Korea loves it some pure cut, unregulated, oligarchical capitalism, so in theory his being popular there would make sense. But he's also a loser nugu, and Korea is not about that weakness.

Happy #Lawyercat Anniversary for all who celebrate! It's been four years since the kitten appeared in my Zoom courtroom, and I released the 48 second video that made the whole world laugh. Here is the full video showing the big reveal at the end (in two parts because Blue sky). Enjoy!

Hard sci-fi is when you have big aerials. Mythic sci-fi is when you have energy swords. And sci-fi horror is of course when there’s an anomaly

Its so stark how if you're over 30ish you grew up in a world that idolised - & I mean fully *worshipped as a bedrock cultural law* - the idea that you should challenge yourself/become something better by trying something new... & now advertising-led tech is all like 'nah babe this isn't your thing'
"Imagine a world in which an A.I. can analyze your reading patterns and alert you that you’re about to buy a book where there’s only a 10 percent chance you’ll get past Page 6..."

Fuck off. That's not empowerment, that's outsourcing your soul. That's outsouling.

A Thai version of “Jack of all trades, master of none” is รู้เหมือนเป็ด, which means “know like duck.” It comes from the belief that ducks can walk and swim and fly, but do none of them well (I will not stand for this duck slander, Thailand!)

One of the reasons David Lynch's work meant so much to me is that he promised that no matter how ordinary-seeming the space you occupy, you contain an unmeasurable quantity of weirdness that deserves expression.
I am promising myself that from here on out, I will try to write even weirder.

Best thing about Xmas board games is my wife's insistence that you concede victory not defeat. English academics for the win.

Finally watched 1928's The Passion of Joan of Arc last night. (📽️ 4½⭐)

Talking to my wife about it this morning, she was thoroughly confused: a far too heavy storyline for a film titled The Passion of Johnny Bark.

So, yeah, that's the latest addition to our shared lexicon, for misheard film titles.
