So believe me I understand this is deeply frustrating and unfair, but a march that does everything right and still gets tear gassed is a successful march that is winning.

It's hard to overstate how ell-organized the portland march that got gassed was... organizers made the crowd promise to be peaceful, said the march would slow in front of the ICE building but not stop, that we would stick to one chant (ICE Out). They did absolutely everything right and got gassed.

Their lack of training is just the buttercream icing on the shit cake. The fact that the one opened fire WHILE HIS GESTAPO COMPATRIOTS WERE STILL ON THE VICTIM is the lack of training. He could have shot his own people. He didn't care. He also didn't care about shooting his victim. Dismember ICE.
Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.

We need to start creating a very clear consequence framework, with only the narrowest of ways to avoid prison time. There are no “innocent” ICE agents. They will all face consequences. How severe those consequences depends on what they have done and how fast they repent.

This needs to be the bare minimum starting point for ANY Dem candidate.
This is the way. Any 2028 Dem candidates need to start saying that on Day One: (1) all ICE agents fired; (2) pensions/benefits defunded; (3) forced to pay backpay as restitution to victims; and (4) only way to avoid prison is to become a cooperating informant
Maybe instead of identifying specific ICE agents who do particularly heinous things, we could just penalize everyone who was on payroll at the agency starting by a certain date.

Finally starting to use the quince I saved for myself this year. This is a ratafia of quince, made from a recipe from the 1700's. It is essentially a 1:1 ratio of cooked fruit to brandy, with 10 oz of sugar per 2 qts, 1 stick cinnamon, 4 cloves, 4 peppercorns.
