This is just such good advice in all situations. “Can you put this in writing?” is such an important question to make second-nature.
"would you please put that in writing" is how you pull off insubordination without actually being insubordinate. Very useful when you are getting sketchy (whatever 'sketchy' might mean) instructions from someone who might not want to take responsibility for it later.

Everything is political. Life is political. If you can act like politics don’t impact your life, you’re both privileged and uninformed. Yes, take breaks from discussing it. Yes, rest - often! But our very existence is political and remembering that is key to our collective survival.

That’s why we can only beat the far right by unilaterally ending their bad faith game and talking about the true motives behind these orders. Being required to take their absurd rationalizations in good faith makes it impossible to confront this stuff. It’s just hate, given institutional voice.
