This morning while pool walking I was telling my bestie about visiting the cat cafe and getting the urge to get a cat for myself.

Bestie was totally all for it. So I guess operation "Clean basement room so a kitty could have a safe space" might start soon.

I was amused my first thought when I saw the carpet on the stone stairs at the gym was "Ooh high contrast edges! This will help a lot!".

Yes, the carpet is adhered to the stairs and is better than the puddles of salt water that will cover the stairs soon.

I want to talk about something that came up during one of the Facilitated Conversations with Kim Crayton — Mediocre sessions.

It’s a conversation I haven’t seen others have publicly because it’s risky.

It requires care, compassion, and precision.

And even then, someone may be harmed.

obviously this is bad, but it’s long been true of other countries we praise to the skies for their healthcare and a lot of progressive Americans don’t want to acknowledge that as a huge vector of oppression. there are a lot of places I couldn’t emigrate to even if I wanted bc they have BMI limits
Obesity's now on the list of considerations, as well as cancer, & mental health, that may result in denial of an immigrant visa.

"Those who suffer from these medical conditions could become a “public charge,” & drain the nation of its resources, the directive argued."

So the full title is COLOR TASTE TEXTURE: Recipes for Picky Eaters, Those with Food Aversion, and Anyone Who’s Ever Cringed at Food. I know that “picky eaters” is a loaded term, the sole purpose of it in the title is so it can be found by the most people. It’s used sparingly within the book itself.
I’m an Autistic classically trained chef and I wrote a food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide titled COLOR TASTE TEXTURE, that’s all about finding out what works for specific sensory needs and how to customize food for them. It’s useful for all ages, no cooking experience necessary.
Color Taste Texture by Matthew Broberg-Moffitt: 9780593538593 | PenguinRandomHouse.com: Books
An accessible family cookbook that offers solutions rather than tricks to empower the food-averse, autistic, and picky eater, with 46 recipes. This much-needed cookbook combines tips and techniques.....

Sometimes you just have to text a friend if they are free this afternoon to go with you to a cat cafe.

It was a good visit. Sadly, no kitties tried to come home with me so I'll just have to go again in a few weeks when there are new kitties at the cafe.

The number of people I've had to block because of their reply is why I didn't quote the original thread in this.

I'm responsible for your behavior. If you can't behave in my thread, I'm not having you poison someone else's.
To add on to my previous retweet (about food aversions and not helpful help).

Yes, people want to help. Food is how we share connection, build bounds, and nourish our souls as well as our bodies.

But food aversions do not honor that. "Normal" advice doesn't help, it just frustrates.

A rare interview with the creators of the always-funny, always-brilliant, and *usually*-sexy—or occasionally anti-sexy—OGLAF!

Cooper has kept a low profile over the years, but is legitimately one of the very best artists in comics today. Read OGLAF if you're old enough to drive!
Talking Oglaf with Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne: 'We'd stay up all night drawing stuff to make each other laugh' - The Comics Journal
Other than some time off every year for Christmas, Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne have delivered a new Oglaf comic, skewering fantasy tropes with absolutely not safe for work humor, every week since 2008...

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.
