Highland cattle are famous for their ability to "disco nap". Normally these brief, efficient sleeps will last between three and twenty minutes, deploying a variety of objects as pillows, including moorland boulders, cars or any particularly large dog or sheep who happens to be nearby.

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

Emma, the most beautiful and important cat in the whole world. She is a very fluffy brown/black/grey tabby. She seems large but actually she is small. She is between a lilac ottoman and a set of linen drapes. She is backlit by sunlight, which offsets her very very green eyes.
