Swallowed a tangerine pip and now a tangerine tree is going to grow inside me like one of those insect parasites that hijacks their host's nervous system & brain, forcing them to do their bidding before destroying them. I don't want to become a tangerine zombie. The Xmas season is fraught with peril

#Gardenersworld viewers and others will be looking forward to the 'Curious Garden' at #Chelsea 2026.
It's Frances Tophill's first garden at this flower show. We think she brings a welcome non-poshly influence in the garden design world. And yes, design matters.

Given previous Government reaction to tackling various issues, they'll probably solve this by making motorbikes illegal. 🤔🤣🤣
Motorbikes are 11 times more likely to be stolen than cars. I did a Westminster Hall debate to tackle how we can beat this issue together 💪

The day after the UK government announces another extension to the long-running fuel duty freeze, Dutch MPs have voted to increase their fuel duty and divert some of the money to public transport. This is what we should be doing. @jodiegoslingmp.bsky.social

Just contemplating Dickens's "A Christmas Carol". Anyone else think it's a bit off for Scrooge, after apparently seeing the error of his ways, to employ child labour to fetch a goose from a shopkeeper who he expects to be open on Christmas Day morning?

Or am I overthinking it a bit... 🤔🎄🎅

Had a fun evening in the local eco hub sorting and labelling donated tools and hardware. Hopefully people can now find stuff more easily, and I won't come back in three week's time to find it all upside down again. 😉🤣🤣✂️⚒️🧰🔧🔩🛠️📐👨‍🔧👩‍🔧

Get your flu vaccines, people.
If you're in the UK you can get the vaccine at most pharmacies (in Tesco it's about £16) or check here to see if you're eligible for a free one: www.nhs.uk/vaccinations...

At the Conduit in London to support the Lift the Ban campaign. We ban asylum seekers from working, forcing them on benefits, which we then complain about. Bit silly, let them work. Take away this right wing talking point.

Some years ago now there was a scheme called One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) that aimed to make low cost #educational #computers to improve schooling in poorer nations.

Just read this study on the effect of OLPC in Peru. Summary: didn't make much of an impact. 🤔😲☹️

As if the failure of #COP30 (and most other recent COP meetings) wasn't bad enough, we might now be getting indications from some scientists that its not just keeping under 1.5ºC of warming we're motoring past.
“One implication of the increased growth rate of GHG forcing in the last 15 years is that the goal to keep global warming under 2°C is now implausible.”— @drjamesehansen.bsky.social

2°C climate chaos will be unlike anything we have experienced until now.

Adaptation conversations now beyond urgent
