It’s got all the sound and some folks might not enjoy it - but my relaxed brain is clearly set to animals loudly enjoying food. So long as they are not human
I don't have any news to counteract the terrible news of the last few days, so here is a thread of cute animals eating things, with most with crunchy cromchy sounds.

Religious or not @revdaniel.bsky.social is an excellent follow. A dog and a husband and everting! Also - Christmas might make him a bit joyful yet tired.
Our annual “we’re dressed up for the Nutcracker anyway, so might as well do our Christmas photo” photo.

I cannot sleep I cannot sleep. Anyway - how are you?

Not the most important question - but why can’t you get slightly sloppy cat food in tins? The girls in residence do like a pouch sometimes - but why can’t it be canned and less plastic?

Well this is delightful news! Well done and thank you to all concerned. BOOKS!
Thank you!

We've just reached the target on our Crowdfunder.

I can't tell you how much this means. It's been something I really wanted to work. And thanks to you it has.

With Grace's permission, this is an email she just sent me.

I'm overwhelmed.

My house smells of dog. According to my cats. It did happen - 3 hours ago. They are pisssed off!

I am a fidgeter and don’t really like watching a film - but I LOVED this. Really disappointing
How can you lock the best movie of 2025 out of your Best of 2025 lists? Sinners is better than anything else I saw in theaters this year, and I’m at 47 movies and counting.
The way Penske Media publications are locking Sinners out of their Best of 2025 lists is white supremacist bullshit

Oh you didn’t know Variety and Rolling Stone answer to the same master? Now you do

It was AMAZING!
Pass it on: Sinners is probably the best film of the year.

😱
Absolutely not.

If you don’t follow - do - and please appreciate the kind, generous activists and educators who are just bloody knackered.
oh hey we’ve reached the “clearly a credible threat” stage where I just yell and talk with my hands a lot on the internet and barely discuss autism research at all

cool
“Why don’t you post much about autism or research these days?”

uh my gov’t would prefer me dead & I’m currently in the liminal space between a reality where that’s an over reaction & a one that has a credible threat to my life & family. maybe someday we’ll return to our regularly scheduled program.

That feeling when you are waiting for a friend to finish an extreme sport challenge- but you have a coffee and a snack

It is a longish thread but worth the read
Prob a long thread so do mute if you want to! Qs about the govt review of mental health, autism and ADHD. It could be a good thing, it could be a bad thing. It’s giving me the heebie jeebies, though, due to lack of detail (know your audience people)

It is awful that this is needed but so great people are stepping in 😊
We've started something up in the Ozarks. It's a box at the local school where folks can leave food for their neighbors. Been talking with my friends, and comparing what foods to leave that are gone right away. None of us have that much money, but we have enough to buy food for others.

I’m not going to put a picture up - but my brother. He is one of the kindest and funniest people I know. And he’s now had to deal with 2 generations of menopausal women with confusion and loveliness
If you see this, repost with your model of positive masculinity

Excellent stats explainer. My personal bugbear is when people mess with the x-axis with graphs. But this is probably more important to understand!
Important facts.

With Christmas fast approaching, I thought I would share some of the non-fiction books I have read/re-read this year which I would recommend if people are still looking for presents, the ones which seem somewhat....relevant to the current state of things, rather than necessarily "fun" reads 👇1/

Absolutely agree and if anyone doesn’t - that’s fine, but don’t piss on my parade - although there was probably an episode when this is how they sorted out a dire situation so 🤷‍♀️
This show is magnificent. If you have Disney+ watch it. It is hi-octane procedural trash of the finest kind.
Episode 1 of Season 9 of 911: an obnoxious billionaire is swallowed whole by a whale while out kayaking, and is still on his Zoom call from inside the whale. (“You have reception?” “Satellite.”) Meanwhile, there’s trouble on the International Space Station. Ask yourself why you don’t watch this show

A delightful piece of writing about the delights and complex decision-making that comes with letting cats into your life
I've taken the paywall off this eulogy I wrote for my magical, mysterious ex-stray cat George - who died last year - in case anybody would like a read.

It was very, very hard to write but I think it might be my favourite thing I’ve ever written about cats.

On point and many hilarious replies.
All super rich guys sound the same now. It’s all “I sleep four hours a night and spend the other twenty hours a day developing a product that’s going to bring us the best widespread poverty anyone’s ever seen.”

A bit of Jumpin’ Jack Flash fandom below too - it’s given me joy!

From this infinite monkey, I offer a heart and a mind that is open to so many possibilities of what it is to be human, hopefully other members of the gang will feel similarly #translivesmatter #lgbtq
