The way that major healthcare institutions have just decided the rules don't apply when it comes to trans people. Research ethics? Consent? Basic human dignity? Those would just be too inconvenient and it's only a bunch of trannies.

Oslo University Hospital caught using trans patients' journals for research purposes:
- Without the patients' consent to participate in research
- Affecting minors
- 1700 of them
- Taking highly sensitive information from said journals

I don't think there's anything weird about liking artists who have a very different worldview to your own but I am a bit surprised if Kemi Badenoch, a woman who seems to spend most of her life sorting everything in the world into 'right=good' and 'left=bad' buckets, actually agrees with me on that

And as someone whose maternal family is Ukrainian, though positive it is still a bit jarring to see Ukrainians portrayed now as a European heroic warrior people if you think back to how many of the same pundits and political figures portrayed East Europeans as criminal "others" before 2016

In the early 2010s it was infuriating to see endless screeds on "legitimate concerns" against East Europeans from analysts and scholars who seemed oblivious to how the moment political leaders capitulated to this xenophobia it would just lead to escalating hatemongering against other diasporas

IMO the thing is everyone quietly knows that an awful lot of the Midlands has a twitching resentment of Birmingham that can spill over into virulent racism in the hands of a demagogue, but they either don't want to think about it or they need to work with it somehow for the sake of an FPTP majority
