Damn right, we are.

We are doing just enough Job to keep Job. We are not 'giving 110%' because that is mathematically impossible. We are not 'stockholder obsessed' because our stockholders are myopic daytraders & VC techbros with no grasp of longterm growth. We are certainly not 'a family'.
in 2026 we are NOT hustling, we are NOT grinding, we are doing just enough Job to have money for Video Game

I think people today don't understand just how dramatically the night sky has changed - it looked like it does in super remote areas *everywhere* before the invention of electric lighting, and light pollution that obscures the sky has gotten dramatically worse in the last 25 years.
If you ever have the experience of seeing a night sky out in the deep countryside you can understand this; it really is a fundamentally different experience, and I can't imagine it not being formative to people.

Six month exposure in a pinhole camera tracking the Sun's movement from summer to winter solstice. This is so cool - you can spot stretches of cloudy days. Have to redo this to catch the summer sun better.

We need some more tree-posting on this app.

This is the oldest known living Douglas-fir in Oregon (and maybe in North America?) I cored it to near the pith in 2006 and was able to re-visit it recently with some other forest scientists.

It is at least 1015 years old, but probably ~1050.

Absolutely wild pink nitrogen ribbon aurora burst last night here in Iceland. There was cloud cover, and I was worried the show would stay shrouded. Voila!

The purpley-pink & white ribbons are much closer to us in the atmosphere than standard green arcs, and are fast moving.
