There's significant evidence from state legislative term limits that they do, in fact, empower both lobbyists and state executive branches.

I disagree with the suggestion that term limits would further empower lobbyists and therefore we shouldn't consider them as a viable path forward. The current system of federal elected officials who are financially incentivized to become insider traders until they choose to retire isn't working.

Look this may sound weird coming from a guy who's job it is to build franchises that become an inescapable part of culture, but I really like that avatar comes in, makes a bunch of money, but doesn't spawn endless avatarverse shit
The huge box office is what makes it such a paradox. Everyone sees them, and then what? No “May the Force be with you,” no Quidditch, no MCU-like fan theorizing. Compared to the other franchises of its scale, it has weirdly little hold over the popular imagination. I repeat: “Jake Sully.”
