I was proud of myself, after being the first of my friends to see the movie, for telling everyone that they did a great job setting it up for a sequel.
I don't know what's going on with the lead characters, but supporting actors and characters carry the movie, Donny Yen especially. It's good.

rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)

A big reason is there's no substance (at least that I've seen) about the meeting. It's not like Mamdani endorsed the tariffs (like Whitmer), or ICE raids or whatever. To be a collaborator or appeaser, you have collaborate or appease on something.

There's an upper middle class of strivers who must learn to form and write coherent thoughts, behave respectably, and perform excellently in their careers, and they can have a good, comfortable life. These people struggle to understand that the ruling class doesn't have to do any of those things.
