Trump is insane. His inner circle is insane. They want to burn the world so they can loot everyone else’s wealth, feel like big tough guys, and hurt all the groups they despise.

But the thing breaking the whole world is how everyone feels obligated to avoid stating this fact directly.

Of course.
NEW: The anonymous "researcher" in Nick Shirley's viral "fraud" video--treated as a concerned citizen on Fox News and elsewhere--is actually a Minnesota state lobbyist and political activist who worked with a GOP House staffer to provide Shirley info/

there are endless headlines about "grok apologizes" or "grok says it will be fixed" after it generated CSAM using pictures of minors and zero headlines about "grok being shut down" or "musk and xAI in big legal trouble" and I think something fundamental has broken here

Thinking about those months of dialogue on whether or not it was against the rules to mention white supremacy. Remember that?
This should not be shrugged aside. They have stopped with the fake 22 million illegal immigrants things and are flat out saying we want to deport 10's of millions of citizens and legal residents from "third world countries" Basically they are advocating removing 1/3 of the population on a gov site.

But what seemed clear at the time, and has proven true in hindsight, is that the moments following 1/6 were the point of greatest leverage. And Dems made NO EFFORT to use them, instead adopting a process that simply assumed that it would be better to “build a case” than ride the wave. As always.

It’s hard to believe that one man can cause so much stress, so much fear, so much pain and suffering…a man who took an oath to preserve and protect our Constitution. This man, who is inciting terror across our land, must be removed from office. In a sane world, it would happen immediately.

This thread perfectly explains why AI has little value for qualitative research.

Yes, large language models can find patterns in qualitative data. But, they're trained on what we already know. So, they won't find anything surprising. And, surprise is qualitative research's primary value-add.
Absolutely right.

AI might be able to summarize (poorly) what we currently know, but a major goal of historical research is to find the hidden surprises out there.

Let me illustrate …
Not a historian but like to research. The AI might summarize what I'm looking for, but it doesn't find what I'm *not* looking for. The book on the shelf next to the one I wanted. The insight in chapter 6 based on the quote I needed from chapter 4.

I'd call his bluff and take that deal in a heartbeat. It'd prove so many things.. and he'd never do it, because Miller is the non-human coward in this situation.

“He raped me.”

“Donald J Trump had raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein.”

“She was found with her head ‘blown off’… there was no way it was a suicide.”

Now we’re starting to see why Trump was hiding the Epstein files, and it probably gets much worse.

These declines are MASSIVE.

And the comparative silence in media coverage is absolutely DAMNING.

“Why are ppl always so afraid of crime?”

THIS is why. When crime goes up, media trips over itself to report it.

Falls to pre-war (!!) levels? Just CRICKETS.
I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

Just a few examples of FBI/DOJ documents that haven't been released:

The 2019 prosectors' memos on co-conspirators they considered charging.

The 2007 60-count draft indictment of Epstein.

A raft of victim statements detailing abuse from powerful men.

And much more

None has been released.

Pulling taxpayer-funded project and maintenance work feels like the "Fuck around and find out" moment for this administration. Don't mess with people's money.
Sean Duffy on blue states: "What I can do is I can pull their money. That's the leverage I do have ... I guarantee you that the federal taxpayer is not going to fund their roads and bridges and their systems when they are putting illegals on the roads."
