"designed with gamers in mind" is a warning sign. that's what they put on the fence blocking a radioactive wasteland. what lies beyond is not a place of honor.

Don’t feel stupid but delete immediately you know, tell people, and on here, block anyone who refuses to take down the fake.

Don’t feel stupid if you fell for fake video. It can be really hard to tell these days. But we do have to try and be careful with what we share because there’s so much AI video out there.

It’s just the world we live in now.

You don't become an artist who's any good if you don't love the work itself. Even the parts that are a struggle.

What we don't love is the marketing, promo, admin, etc. When you start, you don't think you're signing up to be a wildly underpaid arts admin, but 80% of professional art time is this.

there’s this weird idea a lot of people seem to have about how all of us writers and artists must secretly want to use AI and are merely resisting temptation for ethical reasons, and like, no, it’s not hard for me to resist drinking the bowl of Piss With Glass In It actually

ICE must be destroyed.

Let's make a promise here, friends... we ARE going to abolish ICE. Not REFORM it. ABOLISH it. And we're going to put that massive budget back into funding all the things that actually HELP people.

A wider field view of Westerlund 1. A dense cluster of bright stars, each with six large and two small diffraction spikes, due to the telescope’s optics. They have a variety of sizes depending on their brightness and distance from us in the cluster, and different colours reflecting different types of star. Patches of billowing red gas can be seen in and around the cluster, lit up by the stars. Small stars in the cluster blend into a background of distant stars and galaxies on black. A nebula made up of cloudy gas and dust in the form of soft and wispy clouds and, in the center, thin and highly detailed layers pressed close together. Large, bright stars surrounded by six long points of light are dotted over the image, as well as some small, point-like stars embedded in the clouds. The clouds are lit up in blue close to the stars; orange colors show clouds that glow in infrared light. A star cluster within a nebula. The center of the image contains arcs of orange and pink gas that form a boat-like shape. One end of these arcs points to the top right of the image, while the other end points toward the bottom left. Another plume of orange and pink gas expands from the center to the top left of the image. To the right of this plume is a large cluster of white stars. There are more of these white stars and galaxies of different sizes spread throughout the image. Red dual opposing jets coming from young stars fill the darker top half of the image. At bottom center is a glowing pale yellow, cave-like structure, its top tilted toward two o’clock, with a bright star at its center. The dust of the cave structure becomes wispy toward eight o’clock. Above the arched top of the dust cave, 3 groupings of stars with diffraction spikes are arranged. A dark cloud sits at the top of the arch of the glowing dust cave, with one streamer curling down the right-hand side. The dark shadow of the cloud appears pinched in the center, with light emerging in a triangle shape above and below the pinch, revealing the presence of a star inside the cloud. The largest jets of red material emanate from within this dark cloud, thick and displaying structure like the rough face of a cliff, glowing brighter at the edges. At top center, a star displays another, larger pinched dark shadow, this time vertically. To the left of this star is a more wispy, indistinct region.

We are at $644/$3000 (our first goal, to help James recoup most of the money they've already spent on his care). Thank you all so much!

I didn't know GFM has a $5 minimum - to send a smaller donation, hit up the link below & put "for James" in the note - I'll add it to the total.

The Carina Nebula (NGC 3372) in Near Infrared - From Rolf Wahl Olsen - https://flic.kr/p/eaDxth
This image shows the Great Nebula in Carina (NGC 3372) in infrared light. This majestic nebula is one of the largest nebulae in the sky and lies about 7,500 light years distant in the Southern constellation of Carina, The Keel. Several star clusters containing some of the brightest and most massive stars known are found here, including the extremely luminous hypergiant star Eta Carinae - one of the prime candidates for the next supernova explosion in our galaxy.

Traditional images of the Carina Nebula taken in visible light primarily display the striking magenta colour from glowing Hydrogen gas, as well as large dark obscuring clouds of dust.
But infrared light penetrates these clouds better and allows for a deep peek into the heart of the nebula, revealing complex details and thousands of young stars that are otherwise completely invisible.
These stars shine primarily in the infrared and appear as golden red in this image. Only a minority of these are even visible in traditional images.

The infrared region seems largely unexplored by amateur astronomers. But using a filter that only allows infrared light (>700nm) to pass through allows for obtaining an image of these hidden features. Effectively the band observed is 700-1100nm since the sillicon CCD chip is not responsive to wavelengths longer than that, and this band is called NIR (Near Infrared). One issue arising from this technique is that the NIR band does not have a colour as such, since it lies outside the v...

If there isn't a stay, "InfoWars will have been acquired by its ideological nemesis and destroyed," the filing says.

As well as this, I feel quite strongly that the increased prominence in recent years of social media influencers who engage in nothing but ragebait content and harassment has proverbially sucked all the air out of the room, content mills producing bullshit at speed who dominate gaming conversations.

“Why isn’t anyone covering our indie games?”

1. The gaming press has been decimated by business suits, and the whims of an uncaring search engine behemoth
2. Doing the job means you get death threats and harassment
3. There are more games released in 1 week than there were in entire months in 2015
