Don't let them lie to you about Senator Padilla. DHS is claiming the agents DID NOT KNOW he was a senator. He CLEARLY says (BEFORE he is tackled and cuffed) "I am Senator Alex Padilla and I have a question for the secretary."

Joni Ernst isn’t “uneducated” or “stupid.” She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in public administration. She was the valedictorian of her high school class. Don’t underestimate the dangers of religious extremism—especially when it’s combined with political power.

Disabled and aging people are regularly abandoned when it comes to disasters. There needs to be more national preparedness, not less.
RFKJ defends cutting national preparedness work by claiming locals do better.

Word of the day: Disaster: An event that exceeds the ability of local actors to respond without external resources. (paraphrased).

No matter how bad you imagine smallpox was, it was worse than that.
Ben Franklin on inoculation, after his son died from smallpox.

“In 1736, I lost one of my sons, a fine boy of four years old, by the small-pox, taken in the common way. I long regretted bitterly, and still regret that I had not given it to him by inoculation”.

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.

When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.
