Just another one of those pansexual polyamorous anti-fascist nerds your dad warned you about 😘
Important middle of the night question regarding Disney’s Aristocats that I cannot be bothered to google: who tf impregnated Duchess in the first place?!?

Some interesting food for thought
I researched every attempt to stop fascism in history. The success rate is 0%.
Once they win elections, it's already too late.

Just saw Honey Don’t! & I have one non-spoiler comment: There’s a scene where two ppl have sex and one asks the other “Did you see heaven?” And she replies “No but I think I saw Palmdale” to which the other replies “Next time, I’ll take you all the way to Merced.” This movie is set in Bakersfield 😑

Kennedy touring the campus after the shooting is fucking ghoulish: one vaccine denier surveying the crime scene of another. Holding the position of health secretary while parroting anti-science beliefs reads as tacit approval for ppl who think like the shooter; his existence emboldens these monsters

Reneé Rapp’s new album is delightful! Most songs land somewhere between glossy pop standard & heartfelt bluesy missive, her voice is wonderfully expressive, and every song is deliciously gay in all the best ways. Recommending for the pop lovers & sapphics out there! 🎶👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 #musicsky

Ursula Le Guin: “The shift from denial of injustice to recognition of injustice can’t be unmade.... Once you see the injustice, you can never again in good faith deny the oppression and defend the oppressor. What was loyalty is now betrayal. From now on, if you don’t resist, you collude.”

It still boggles my mind that this company purposely named itself after a magical object that an evil overlord used to sow greed, despair, and hopelessness in the hearts of the most powerful men in Middle Earth 🤔

“Instead of investigating how more than 135 Texans died in horrific flooding, the GOP-controlled legislature made re-gerrymandering the state their top priority.”

Well, duh, gotta make sure they have control of as many districts as possible so they can ensure EVERYBODY dies in the next disaster! 🙄
Re-gerrymandering a state to rig an election & then threatening to arrest and expel the members protesting that election rigging is pure authoritarianism

Texas Dems who fled state are fighting for very survival of American democracy www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Fleeing Texas was the only way Democrats could block Trump’s plan to rig the midterms

"The Left" is a phantasm; ill-defined and idealised for the purpose of outrageous and vague claims.
If someone says "the problem with the left" ask them: who specifically do you mean? Which organisation? Which person? Which outlet?
The left is completely silent on the subject of men getting laid - which, generally speaking, they are v.interested in doing and will continue to be interested in regardless of whether progressives want to talk about it. So the stage has been left entirely clear for the far-right.

“Women are not objects” seems so easy yet I haven’t seen enough of this in response to Tr*mp’s comments…he described her like she was a fancy fountain pen that Epstein dropped into his pocket while visiting Mar-a-Lago; this “defense” should serve as evidence of his predatory views on young women.
“She wasn’t stolen. She was preyed upon”

She was 16 years old.

Scored last-minute VIP box seat tickets to the Outlaw Music Festival from my work. Willie Nelson has been on my bucket list for a long time so I’m absolutely delighted & the seats genuinely could not be better! 💕🎶🤠

Gentle reminder: it’s not OK for anyone to make unwanted sexual passes at you, no matter what you look like. Saying things like they shouldn’t have because you’re “not even attractive” implies that conventionally attractive people somehow /do/ deserve unwanted attention. No one deserves it, period.

Just finished this excellent read! I’ll be honest, I’ve never had a non-fiction make me cry with its ending like this one. Skloot paints a very real but very loving picture of the Lacks family & their struggles after losing their matriarch while posing some important questions about ethics #booksky

Word! We’re still discussing what a shit idea holding & participating in the 1936 Olympics was; every organization/country should take a page out of that history book and boycott the US.
FIFA is considering moving the World Cup games to Canada in response to escalating fascism in the US.

Good. They should. And the Olympics should follow suit.

Refuse to normalize or reward fascism.

The US is not a safe place to visit & we should all vote with our dollar and go elsewhere.

Feeling rough over the news about Ozzy. The man was instrumental in creating a paradigm shift that’s still extant today. It wasn’t just about metal music & biting the heads off bats, it was about freedom & self expression. He did that for him but he also did it for everyone who came after. RIP.

Valve just updated their Steam rules to ban content that “may violate rules set by payment processors or banks.” Sounds boring. It’s not. It’s the quiet normalization of financial censorship and it’s going to hurt LGBTQ+ games and devs

“I was never told why I was arrested. I never received care to clean myself despite being covered in tear gas and OC spray for days.” Thinking about all the people arrested that day who won’t be released, who are still suffering.
