On his first day in office, the Mayor of New York toured the crumbling apartment of one of his constituents.

On his 348th day in office, the President of the United States shops for marble and onyx for a ballroom nobody wants.

This is absolutely the most important point
Trump is president to begin with because a critical share of Americans don't really care about norms and legalities. As a matter of politics, probably best to say that this was the act of a stupid and dishonest man, who doesn't really care about drugs, that could pull us into a deeper conflict.

We went to some of the day cares Nick Shirley did. Here’s what we found.
Some of the 10 day cares the YouTube content creator blasted for having “no children” invited reporters in to see for themselves.

Corruption so pungent, it wafts right off the page:

Lobbyists who do pardon deals “say their going rate is $1 million. Pardon-seekers have offered some lobbyists close to the president success fees of as much as $6 million if they can close the deal.”

So I have the cover story in next month's TNR.

I interviewed the heads of police groups; immigration defense attorneys, ex-judges and ex-prosecutors; former DOJ and DHS officials, and the former head of Border Patrol.

They're all horrified at what we've seen, and they all fear what's coming.
Trump’s Immigration Nightmare: It Is Happening Here
With astonishing speed, the administration has toppled the most cherished pillars of a free society. And the experts agree: It’s all going to get much, much worse.

The rate of return here is crazy: for a few hundred thousand dollars, this lab produces literally billions of oysters and supports a seafood industry worth hundreds of millions. And the Trump administration is just like "fuck all that, it's wasteful spending, you're fired"

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, just ask yourselves, how could my client possibly be guilty of the crimes of which he’s been accused, when he clearly spends every waking moment staging, taking, developing, and framing photographs with his friends and “friends”
Jeffrey Epstein, with an unidentified (redacted) woman, holds a large novelty cheque for $22,500 signed by…Donald Trump. It's a framed photo, an the frame says "once in a blue moon". What on earth is going on here?

1. For at least 10 years, Pepsi has conspired with Walmart to force up grocery prices. That’s the shocking evidence made public today in an unsealed FTC lawsuit. The suit was abandoned in May by the Trump FTC just before it was to be un-redacted. We went to court to get it unsealed & won.
