ICE are alllll over Harlem right now, 116 & Frederick Douglass, checking IDs and targeting the area’s African community. Multiple people have been detained.

Community members are advising folks to carry citizenship documents - or stay away if they are at risk

No NY Complicity with ICE!
Text SIGN PQGCAK to 50409 — The killing of Renee Nicole Good by ICE is a national alarm, echoing the murder of George Floyd. It confirms that ICE is a rogue police force, and its violence—disproportionately targeting Black and Brown immigrants—is enabled by local cooperation. New York must end its complicity. Data shows ICE operations rely on state and local systems. Our jails, courts, and police are pipelines to deportation and death. Simultaneously, U.S. foreign policy—from historic coups to modern sanctions—drives the displacement of peoples who then face our border regime. New York can lead a real break. We demand you enact a true sanctuary, defined by abolition and repair: 1. Pass the "Protect New Yorkers from ICE Act": Ban all state/local cooperation with ICE/CBP, including database sharing and facility access. Fund universal representation for all facing deportation. 2. Enact the "NY CARE Act": Divest billions from policing and incarceration into non-police crisis response, social housing, and community-based safety. 3. Provide Universal State Benefits: Guarantee healthcare, tuition aid, and all state programs to every resident, regardless of immigration status. 4. Leverage State Economic Power: Mandate pension fund divestment from private prisons, border tech, and extractive industries displacing communities abroad. Stop funding the systems that criminalize and displace people. Instead, build the world that makes them obsolete: one of universal care, economic justice, and the right to remain.

New York City went 12 days without a murder in November / December. That's tied for the longest stretch in history, according to the NYPD. As someone who was here when there were 6+ murders per day in this town, it continues to amaze me how safe the place is.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

One more thing to remember: this story comes as Republicans across the country are working to hide maternal mortality data. They're disbanding maternal death committees, stacking them with anti-choice activists, and obscuring the connection between deaths & bans

A teenager with a homeless parent? What? The fuck? Did she have a home and not allow her parent to live in it? Ended up having sex with? What? Yeah clearly you guys been caping for pedos long enough and you understand the assignment here
A teenager in Florida with a homeless parent wanted money for braces and ended up having sex for money with powerful men, setting off a chain of events that would have a dramatic impact on her life and help upend the political career of Representative Matt Gaetz. nyti.ms/49PSkL9
