I know I’m an editor and all, but I really enjoy creative writing but I don’t think I’m the best at it. I told my spouse and he said “So be bad at it. If you like it, do it and be bad at it.” And that really sat well with me so I’m back to writing a short story 💕

i think a lot of people don't understand what translating a text _is_. languages are not just word-for-word ciphers for each other. translation involves making a lot of complex creative choices, and the longer the text the more complex. it is, ultimately, an act of rewriting from scratch.
