I think what’s rattling the exec class is that they fundamentally misunderstood the rise of guillotine memes. The vast majority of people making guillotine aren’t signaling that they’re going to become executioners; they’re signaling that if someone did, they wouldn’t get in the way: they’d cheer.

Mark Kelly is a solid pick AND his wife actually took a bullet for democracy! That could be a good move.
I suspect the VP slot will be taken by a white dude from a swingable state. Folks have suggested Mark Kelly or Andy Beshear, and I think those are strong possibles. If Harris really wants to fuck with people, though, she could pick Beto O'Rourke.
Personally, I'd prefer a more left leaning candidate, but I know that's not happening. She's certainly better than Trump and maybe even a bit better than Biden, though. I suppose I can hold out some hope that she'll pick someone more left for her VP, but probably not.

I voted at 18 without being "mobilized" or having "outreach." I just voted, like it's a normal thing to do.
In the TX 2022 elections, with a lot on the line, 22% of 18-29 turned out. Lower than 26% in 2018, 28% in 2016, and 41% in 2020. Overall, only 45% of Texans voted, and terrible candidates won.
But it wasn't just on them. The Dem party didn't mobilize young voters.
