Often wrong, but learning. Annoying socdem wokescold. Sadness and kindness. He/him
It's kinda funny that the bluewave bot farm (30k following, 30k followers hastagresist) on bluesky seems - as far as I can tell - to achieve very little just out of demographics: Bluesky's 38 year olds can't stand Dems and the lefties just infight and so they're ignored

One fun thing about the Japanese is we love the FUCK out of Christmas and have only the loosest concept of what is going on
Merry Christmas! Please enjoy the opening to this Japanese Christmas concert special that I watch every year.

As far as I can tell, this has otherwise been scrubbed from the internet

in this, our year 2025 before common easteregg, after literally every saas has crowbarred an LLM into every angle, I've uploaded my PII to every major web platform, my PII and passwords have been leaked dozens of times, it's mildly comforting to still have youtube advertise to me like I speak Dutch

Discourse about American SUV road dreadnaughts: Tedious, not going anywhere

Discourse about European cars being simply too small to be taken seriously: Under-discussed, annoying to everyone

Got a headstart on being maximally annoying to rest of kin this holiday by giving them housing policy gifts and lectures.

As a geographic aside: why do all Scifi representations reduce entire planets to a single type of weather and biome?

Like: fly to ice planet. Weather is ice. Across the entire hemisphere. Just the one weather.

Mystery ocean planet is just ocean. Nothing else. City planet is just space-singapore

Few animate with paint on glass. But Martine Chartrand wanted to do it. So, she flew across the world to learn from the best -- Alexander Petrov.

He mentored her. In turn, she fought to revive his struggling career. We explore:

seeing a machine do something that you previously thought was unique to your cognition, and opening up that capability to anyone, is to many people a deep narcissistic injury. this explains much about the social environment

@why.bsky.team apologies if this has been blasted as a question at you and/or the bluesky team already, but do you have any thoughts on the poster geolocation feature?

I'm guessing there's a bunch of complexity there, and maybe it's something we can roll into a third party app

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

I don't care overly for AI slop, but I do think we probably want to be able to instill trust in photos and images that are recorded for evidentiary or reporting purposes and disambiguate them from generated stuff.

I wonder if there's much work done into physical cameras signing their work?
