My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

But this move by TimCooked has me thinking there are no more Apple devices in my future.

“Hi we would like you to ignore the modern holocaust” has a way of immediately destroying any shred of loyalty.

“A new left-wing political approach must emerge from the Supreme Court’s destruction of laws and rights—an approach that doesn’t rely on the courts to enforce social progress, but relies on the people to force social progress on the courts.”

As always, he’s correct.

It's the first Monday in October which means the Supreme Court is back in session. Here's my preview of all the cruelty and evil they will visit upon us this term.

New: Apple banned an app that simply archived videos of ICE abuses. Rather than other apps that record ICE official's real-time location, Eyes Up is to "preserve evidence until it can be used in court." Videos from TikTok etc. Every submission manually reviewed

Apple Banned an App That Simply Archived Videos of ICE Abuses
Eyes Up's purpose is to "preserve evidence until it can be used in court." But it has been swept up in Apple's crackdown on ICE-spotting apps.

Apple has removed Eyes Up, which archives video evidence of ICE abuses, from the App Store; unlike ICEBlock, it doesn't share ICE officers' real-time locations (Joseph Cox/404 Media)

Jonathan Rinderknecht, a white man, was charged with starting the Palisades Fire. But on X, the company's news summary tab shows a photo of a black man.

I don't think we'll ever get another sentence which sums up everything the New York Times embodies quite like "Some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily kill civilians".
mattcameron.bsky.social
hey @nytimes.com: there is no counterpoint here. There are no credible legal experts who would EVER say that the US military has any right or authority to blow civilian craft out of the Caribbean and kill their crews from afar without any provocation. There is no other side to this question.
"Some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily kill civilians not directly taking part in hostilities, even if they are believed to be smuggling drugs."

Pritzker is offering the following at the moment:

1. Trust the courts. [not a viable strategy]
2. "Film the cops"
3. Vote in 2026
4. Protest [peacefully]

And he knows this is not sufficient. Everyone does.

He will not address the local cops angle because he might be deposed...

Are you stopping them? Doesn’t look like it.

Analysis is 100% right but it’s important not to blow smoke when your citizens are getting brutalized. Maybe all the people saying the governor has no legit way of actually stopping them are correct! But if you can’t, then don’t claim you are.

Pritzker: "I think it's important to recognize that the Trump administration does not seem to respect any laws in the United States. They just do what they want to do and they'll keep doing it unless someone stops them. Here in Illinois we're stopping them."

Chat, is it good that all the world's most powerful people are obsessed with the nazi jurist, Carl Schmitt?
Screenshot of a WIRED article titled “The Real Stakes, and Real Story, of Peter Thiel’s Antichrist Obsession” by Laura Bullard, published on September 30, 2025, at 12:05 PM. The subheading reads: “Thirty years ago, a peace-loving Austrian theologian spoke to Peter Thiel about the apocalyptic theories of Nazi jurist Carl Schmitt. They’ve been a road map for the billionaire ever since.” Alt text:
Screenshot of a text excerpt discussing legal scholars’ research on Carl Schmitt. The highlighted section reads: “But over time, Vermeule’s fascination grew. ‘I noticed that Adrian had moved away from just being interested in Schmitt to actually embracing all dimensions of Schmitt’s theory: both the political dimension and the legal dimension,’ Dyzenhaus says.”

I understand why people *want* the police to intervene--normies are like, 'I thought cops are supposed to arrest people doing crimes, ICE is right there doing crimes, go do your thing'

but police organizations take nearly every opportunity to be like, 'oh you misunderstood what our thing is'
