My last prompt for 2025.

What is one thing that annoyed you? Or that you want to go away in 2026? Except the obvious.

I say this all the time and I have to say it is oddly gratifying that such a luminary as Ann Leckie also arrived at the same phrases
D1) again, this is difficult to pull off at longer lengths. But you don't get good at a thing by not doing it.

E) YOU DON'T GET GOOD AT A THING BY NOT DOING IT done is better than perfect. Don't worry so much about "practicing right" just practice. You can adjust as you need as you go on.

I’m beginning to be cautiously optimistic that the story is changing, that people are more resistant to this kind of bullshit video than they used to be.
CNN: “Surely you don’t think a daycare should be unlocked.”

SHIRLEY: “There should be a reception area.”

CNN: “No, every day care is locked.”

SHIRLEY: “Fair point.” 🤔

He shows up to a day care with masked men and wonders why they don’t let him in.

Getting back into reading.
Prompt one: Name something that made you happy this year. It can be anything.

Finished the semester with some behavioral wins. It's been a tough year, so that was everything.
Prompt two: Name one thing you are proud of yourself this year.

It can be anything, big or small. I pet a cat. I survived the year. I finished that book that I wasn't sure I'd finish. I got an award. A raise. Etc.

Surviving the year has always been the reason for the season.

Sure, there's community togetherness (cause y'all survived together), and religious connections (which have many roots).

You can /argue/ that Coca-Cola invented the modern Santa Claus.

But we can pinpoint the origin of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with total precision.

He was invented by Robert L. May in 1939 for Montgomery Ward as a promotional/coloring book.

Ironically, Robert May grew up secular Jewish.

Thinking about the top books I read this year. Here are my favorites:

North Woods: historical with a paranormal twist that I really enjoyed.

The Rainfall Market: fantasy fairy tale with the best cat sidekick.

These Burning Stars: Girl Dune sci fi epic. Love the characters so much
