You've got to be kidding, @github.com 🤯. Instead of releasing two new copilot branded features per week, how about making the PR code review feature usable? This should be in your interest. With LLM-generated code, a good review experience is now more important than ever!

Holy fuck. It's one thing for Microsoft to silently replace Windows notepad with their new AI-integrated version of notepad. But it's an entirely different level of malice to go out of their way to actually prevent people from associating .txt with the original notepad.exe. I'm so done with Windows.

TIL NVMe SSDs are now cheaper than SATA SSDs. I mean economically, in terms of volume, it makes sense, but just a few years ago a large m.2 stick was a decadent luxury good 🤯 Now it's like: "if I had more PCIe lanes, I'd buy another m.2, but I guess I have to go with the pricy SATA option instead"

Least favourite thing in video games by far: endlessly re-spawning minions in boss fights. It's just so antithetical to how I approach challenges: one problem at a time.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is phenomenally fantastic 😍 Excellent sound track, excellent story, fun gameplay. If you go for it, have a pack of tissues at hand. Trust me #clairobscur

What are essential minor indignities anyone who has actually worked in your career knows, but would never be realized by a fake? Like sorting IP addresses in Excel for IT.

And we're back in the dark ages of browser mono culture 🙄🙄🙄 (Mobile Firefox, which, I might add, works perfectly fine for 99.999% of the modern web)

In the past, most synthesizer music was set in the future, but nowadays, most of it is set in the present or the past. This is not necessarily a bad thing and probably natural, but we now lack an instrument which ekoves the future, so we should think about nominating a new one.

Don't get a Lenovo P16 Gen 2 workstation laptop if you plan to carry it around, I guess 😑. It's a very powerful laptop, but it can still operate with all fans turned off in "power saver" mode. YET when you put it into sleep ("modern standby"), the fans turn back on! 🤯 1/3

Twitter account deleted. 🫥 I really dislike giving up my handle, but honestly that was about the only argument in favour of keeping the account. I scrolled through my timeline and pretty much everyone I care about has moved on. All I was doing over there, was blocking bot follows every now and then.

Ask yourself: how often do you use caps lock? Per day, roughly. Got a number? Good. Now ask yourself: how often do you use the escape key? If the answer to the latter is significantly higher than the answer to the former, then try to configure your computer to swap the two keys. Just do it.

You are stumbling around in the dark with nothing but your phone at hand. The screen's illumination is not sufficient to find your way, with everything supporting dark mode nowadays. In that moment, have you ever spent time wondering which app or website would be bright enough to light the way?

What if we could actually do better than Git? I have spent the last six months using Jujutsu (jj), and… I think it actually has a shot.

I am so excited I also spent the last six months writing >10,000 words about it, so check it out! v5.chriskrycho.com/essays/jj-in...

Jujutsu (`jj`) is a new version control system from a software developer at Google. It seems promising, so I am giving it a try on a few personal projects.

We are lowering the prices for Proton Pass Plus.

As a community-supported company without venture capital investors, Proton is not primarily profit-driven. If we raise prices when costs increase, we believe it's fair to reduce prices when costs decrease.
