It is a stretch to call what ICE is doing terrorism, but it seems squarely within the realm of what we would call a hate crime. Their behavior is clearly intended to intimidate people of the same racial group that they have no legal power to touch.

This Bills press conference is total bullshit. The team had developed a reputation over the last 10 years as one of the best player-oriented organizations in sports, and they just threw that all away. So disappointing.

I wonder if states can pass laws to prohibit people involved in federal civil rights abuses from being employed in government (within their state) and making public employees forfeit their pensions and benefits if they’ve been found to collaborate with these unconstitutional operations

i feel like the viral bus thread resonates because at every step of the way you're like "ok surely this will be resolved shortly, any second now," which seems like what all the passengers are also thinking. then the fact that the situation doesn't resolve and the bus just keeps going is an Allegory

We cannot normalize this federal occupation of Minneapolis.

It is not normal to watch people abducted in front of our eyes—dragged from car windows, pulled from their homes, and children left without parents.

This is not about immigration. It’s about unchecked cruelty.

What worries me with ice is that the public has no way of knowing if they are really ice. They have unmarked vehicles, wear masks, show no warrants or legal paperwork, no identification, and appear very unprofessional and violent. Anyone could be impersonating ice to terrorize our communities.

Many Americans are terrible neighbors to each other, and that is why MN is striking everyone as extraordinary activism... when they are telling us that it is not. They're good neighbors!

It's no wonder that "being a shitty neighbor" is the hallmark of our domestic politics and our foreign policy.

ICE is not supposed to have a policing function. To call for them to engage in “de-escalation training” is to cede to the fact that they’re going to be policing cities.

Donald Trump is not legally President. He *is* an insurrectionist, and is fully banned from ANY office under the United States. Swearing in a banned person to an office does NOT fill that office. So, keep hating him. He isn't POTUS, and we owe him nothing.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

Cripes a’mighty people, Steven Miller is not staging a militarized ethnic cleansing and sending the border cops to murder people in the street to distract from the Epstein files. He’s doing it because he and Trump (and Vance and Homan and Noem etc) really really want to.

Senate Democrats absolutely have to shut the govt down to stop this ICE insanity in the Twin Cities. This is not sustainable & cannot be normalized. Any Democratic vote to provide money to the thugs who are brutalizing this community is a grave betrayal to the people here. Accountability can't wait.
