Who’s Funding Elizabeth Shaffer?
A candidate can’t control everyone who donates to them. But, wealthy donors, like most voters, tend to financially support candidates who they think will support their own interests. So, if you’re …

I hope @dewayneforminneapolis.com doesn't mind me retelling a story he told me when we first met last winter. I kept it to myself because he wasn’t telling it publicly but he mentioned it yesterday. It’s one of the things that’s leading me to rank him first. A hope-its-ok-and-I-get-right 🧵:
Yesterday, I hosted an incredible event, "Ward 8 for a New Mayor." We talked about why we need a new mayor and then @jazzformayor.bsky.social , @omarfatehmn.com , and @dewayneforminneapolis.com laid out why they should be our next mayor. I came away excited about all of them and will rank all three!

Davis Moturi email to city council, read aloud by CM Wonsley Wednesday. Sees similarity between his case & Mariah Samuels: "A black person in fear for their lives, and a department who can't be bothered to forward a case for consideration of charges in our time of greatest need."

Incidentally, it should be said that @MayorFrey did this interview and photo op in the coffee shop at George Floyd Square without permission or even asking the owner or the workers in the shop. That is just the type of opportunist he is. He didn’t even purchase a coffee.
The New York Times on George Floyd Square 5 years later. They're asking for submissions from readers who may (or may not) have a connection to the square and their thoughts on it. Questions at the bottom of the story..

Mpls #DontRankFrey folks: What was it that first made you skeptical of or opposed to Jacob Frey (either as a CM or as Mayor)?

And/or, if you were explaining to someone why you don't support him, what specific actions/statements of his would you bring up?

Lots of shenanigans at conventions. Cries of hypocrisy and unfairness from both sides. But booting all those delegates was legitimately outrageous. Identifying people who don't like your candidate and picking them off, among them an elected Park Commissioner, Becky Alper. And Team Frey still lost.
I was one of the delegates who got challenged and booted. They were being obnoxious in the balcony. Literally cheering for neighbors to be disenfranchised. I’ve never been more motivated to see Frey lose. Absolutely abhorrent snickering and shit talking.

How might we promote our projects, events, campaigns, art, values, etc *beyond* social media?

There's no one magic key, but some friends and I did some brainstorming and skill-sharing. Hope it can useful to artists, musicians, organizers, small business owners, and beyond:
Promoting Our Projects, Events, and Values BEYOND Social Media
A guiding question for artists, activists, and community-builders: If social media did not exist, how would you share your art, promote your work, and/or communicate your values?
