Health insurance premiums for Anoka-Hennepin educators rose 22% this spring. In other districts, it's even worse. This is unsustainable.

Went to the office today for a meeting to discuss our team's (soon to be a dozen people) values. We each wrote a few on our own with the idea of listing them all and synthesizing into our values. We generated the list and started point out themes.

My boss put the list into some AI bot. #notmyvalues

It's Trans Day of Remembrance. Today we remember those who were taken from us far too soon because of transphobia in the world.

For many of us, we are misgendered even in death, and disallowed from being who we actually are even when we are no longer here. This is why we remember our dead.

"Anybody who has a voice or a soapbox in this country needs to draw a line in the sand and say that it is not acceptable for the President of the United States to call on the murder of his political opposition."

My single voice is only one, and my soapbox is small, but we all must say this.
The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

fuck. A trans high school freshman in Iowa died by suicide a day after a substitute teacher in his school insisted on misgendering him. He was relentlessly bullied about his gender.

79-year-old Paul Bojerski was born to Polish parents in a WWII German refugee camp. His family legally emigrated to the U.S. when he was 5.

He’s been taken by ICE in Florida.

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

The America I dream of is one in which all of today's fascists are successfully ostracized out of society, have no jobs, have no prospects, and in order to stay alive they are forced to rely on the universal and well-run public safety net programs that make America great.

40 million people eating and not paying for it *is* absolute insanity...

Because no human being anywhere should starve for lack of ability to pay. Living is a human right.
one of the most deeply infuriating aspects of american politics is close to half of americans would love if 20% of the country starved to death

"Organizing is a war for neural pathways[...] all you are doing is strengthening bunches of neurons[...] Non-ideological voters [...] believe all kinds of crazy conflicting shit. It's just how it works. The goal of politics is to strengthen beliefs that resonate and align with yours." 🧵worth a read.
Going to take a swing, again, at what I think is the one biggest thing the establishment DC Searchlight Abundance mod blogger Argument blob (aka everyone with money and audience, sigh) is getting wrong:

Their model of how voters' brains work is not how voters brains actually work. 🧵
The "partisans" (so many questions) are not wrong, moving to the center is not the Way to Win, and hello @nytimes.com Ed Board. Apparently we are at the phase of responding to an argument without responding to the actual argument. Our first time being subeditorialized! Fun.
