As of an extended ride home from work yesterday, I am within touching distance of halfway on both the distance cycled on my rides for Mermaids UK (444miles), and of the amount I want to raise (£700).

Having never properly tried them, I greatly enjoyed the GY!BE set at ArcTanGent, most of which was taken from their 2024 release, which is excellent. Also been enjoying the music of Brigde Chaimbeul (bree-duh haim-bull) lately: mesmerising small-pipes playing.

My 10 year old son has no clue about modern mainstream music. He has been raised on a diet of strange. Loves a bit of Gary Numan, Drug Church and Aphex Twin. I like to pretend I'm doing him a favour, but I'm not completely sure.

On Muck-up day, the Leavers got a blow-up doll in an identical red dress and hung it with a banner saying "FAREWELL DR BUNYARD"* off the canteen roof.
He was due to be headmaster in an Argentinian school, but is now a motivational speaker.

*The fake name was Bunyan or Bunyard, I can't remember.
