The aurora got bright last night! I only took about 10,000 photos of it last night. Should I post them 1 at a time?!

Nailed it!
And while Kelly was a Navy flyer and Astronaut, Hegseth was someone’s problem who spent most of his time hugging a coffee pot complaining to the other fobbit LTs that the US army doesn’t allow them to use enlisted as their personal servants. There is no comparison.
I'm wondering if Kegseth is hell-bent on going after Mark Kelly because he outranked him. Small men do that kind of thing.

They treat AI like it's the space race. What, then, is the equivalent goal of space flight in the race to "global dominance in AI?"
"the president has directed the Department of Energy to launch an AI project called the genesis mission" sounds like something out of a technothriller

Not even the least bit surprised. This is exactly the future Musk wanted for the site when he bought it. Sadly for the rest of us...
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

*My gaze seems to have been caught by something in the corner while you're talking. You pause long enough to realize I'm no longer paying attention.

"Ahem!" ya emote, with enough force to snap my head up and look at you. "What?"

I run my thumb across my lips.

"I don't trust that powerstrip."

Considering what this platform would DEFINITELY be used for, and how incredibly fucked up that use is, why did this platform come to exist?

Oh, right. Money. Also, because some people are gross and lack any form of ethical limitations whatsoever.
This is a nuts story. An AI chatbot and image platform left millions of images exposed. They show what people are actually using the AI for: taking random women's yearbook, graduation, and social media photos and making super realistic hardcore porn with them

My average day, to be honest. :(
My performance reliability had leveled out at 89 percent. Not great, but I could work with it.

I have a few #issues as a tiny mustelid:
hounds in the forest and eagles overhead.
Life and death and drawing breath,
and I fear that my traveling companion's undead.
But I have my curiosity, sharp teeth, and lightning quick speed
and those are the only weapons I'll ever need.

As a science fiction author that writes (among other things) about dystopian near futures, our present spiral into dystopia is really depressing. Shit's getting worse faster than I can predict it. And it sucks twice as bad because I still have to live here.
Just watched the Black Mirror episode "Common People" for the first time and... I already push for universal basic income and healthcare, but holy shit, people, it is really REALLY fucked up that we don't already have universal basic income and healthcare and that without them, DYSTOPIA IS NORMAL.

Fuentes is a vile human being, but he is useful for one thing: fracturing the Far Right. Love to see it!
To be antisemitic or to not be antisemitic? That is the question the GOP is struggling with in the wake of Tucker Carlson's interview with Hitler fanboy, Nick Fuentes.
The right can’t decide if it's okay to hate Jews
The fallout from Nick Fuentes's appearance on Tucker Carlson continues.

The system is rigged, and I fear there is no solution but to get out the guillotines.
Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Yet another deeply disappointing move by Trump's federal agencies. The bureaucracy that was meant to work for and protect the people is now working for and protecting big money.
The DOT also reportedly plans to rescind requirements that airlines disclose junk fees. It's also planning to redefine what flight cancellations would require refunds for passengers.

Both Delta and United gave $1 million to the Trump inauguration fund.

Everything is for sale.
BREAKING: The Trump administration is officially withdrawing a Biden-era plan to require airlines to pay passengers cash compensation when flight disruptions are caused by the airlines.
