accurate. this is why it's useless to engage in the violence/nonviolence debate. fascists will always frame any effective resistance as violent regardless of what tactics it uses. all that matters is what works. based on history, usually it's collective non-cooperation.

At the risk of seeming gauche by quoting Andor, remember “The imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks. It leaks. Authority is brittle.”
One reason the fascists are using terror tactics, bellowing draconian threats and demanding compliance so loudly is because they have real weaknesses around numbers and capacity. Their grip is weaker than it looks and the resistance they're already getting scares them.

One of the greatest slogans of the 2011-13 wave was a handheld sign in Tahrir Square (I believe) that read "Dont Afraid!" The grammatical incongruity of that turned it into a koan, a guiding principle for me and a few friends at the time. 'Afraid' becomes the verb, something you do or do not do.

Just sit with this for a moment. Israel perpetrated what is certainly the largest single mass killing of trans people in history. And it's basically a footnote in an article in the NYT covered weeks after it happened.
Israel bombed an Evin, an Iranian prison that housed dissidents and political prisoners. They ended up destroying the trans wing and murdering over 100 trans people incarcerated there, many for simply being queer in Iran.
