Why is healthcare such a big target for privatization/supply contracts? B/c Saskatchewan govt spends $8B/year on healthcare. Investors & suppliers want a bigger share of that large, low-risk revenue stream. That’s why the lists of political donors & of suppliers/contractors to govt overlap.
If you aren’t following the mess in Alberta health care, with its suggestions of corruption in privatization & healthcare contracts, do. Saskatchewan is already moving towards the Alberta model: quick access for those who can pay, long waits for the rest of us, & more profits for investors.
Also, glad the Premier decided to give an exclusive interview to that bastion of journalistic integrity, Rebel News.
