It seems clear—I think to everyone, now—that a false and illegal invocation of the Insurrection Act is coming before the end of the year. Been kicking around some thoughts about shame. Not very well-read on psychoanalytic thinkers and possessing very little respect for the discipline, I can't say if this idea appears there or elsewhere. I sometimes see average people acting politically, claiming they are "afraid."
