When Ezra Klein says "Charlie Kirk did politics the right way" this is what he means.
Charlie Kirk's ideology is "your kids will be shot in their classrooms so that me and mine can shoot the people you elect if we so choose." While some understand the vast majority of people opposed to gun violence, the vast majority seeing his hagiography, don't, and we're doing them a disservice.

It's worth asking why every elite institution is issuing statements like this rather than pointing out the obvious fact that the institutional right commits and glorifies violence far more than the left. Is there a reason you feel you can't say that out loud?
