A church member at Urban Village Church sent this one along, where Mary, Joseph and Jesus are gone and replaced with a sign that reads: “Due to ICE activity in our community, the Holy Family is in hiding.”

The visibility of the Congolese & Sudanese genocides to us here has to do with lack of access in those places to reach outsiders & also with how our media tells Africa versus the Middle East. There is near radio silence on Africa with an occasional exception always with a racist imperialist lens.

The SAVE Act just passed the house. This is a dark day for voting rights, especially for married women, the poor, and deployed families abroad. A passport here STARTS at $160, and with DOGE cutting so many services, many wouldn't get their passports in time for the November election. By design.

Why does it remind me of a lactating breast?
The future is a web of branching paths, and each choice opens up new possibilities as it closes others. This is as true for a civilization as it is for an individual. The more our collective intelligence can inform each choice, the better our chances of finding paths through to a beautiful future.

Oh 100%. Proverbs 22:6: "Educate a child in their own path"-- every kid needs to be taught in their own way, according to how they need to learn, whatever that means. No cookie cutter sheisse
I want to take this a step further.
Children, people with intellectual disabilities, and people with high support needs can and do grasp these concepts.
It requires individualized pedagogy and praxis, mind you, and a willingness to feel uncomfortable, to make and modify mistakes, and patience.

People need to be making a connection. Why is ICE abducting people to Louisiana & the deep south? Because these places are serious about incarceration. They have serious mass incarceration & are serious about torture. And it comes from the plantation legacy of the region. @prisonculture.bsky.social
