Meanwhile the Trump admin has another hour to tell a federal court “(1) when National Guard troops will arrive in Illinois; (2) what municipalities within Illinois troops will be sent to; and (3) what the scope of the troops' activities will be once here.”

Args at 11AM CT tomorrow morning.

“Senior military leaders should have stepped in to prevent Trump from turning addresses at Fort Bragg and Norfolk into political rallies; the silence of the Army and Navy secretaries, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and some top generals and admirals is appalling…”

Mayor David Pruhs is a conservative who fought protections for LGBTQ+ residents; he made comments this year drew condemnation this year from Alaska Natives. He lost to Mindy O'Neall.

Republicans are coming for the Affordable Care Act, and I am proud to stand in solidarity with federal workers during MAGA's government shutdown. I'll never back down from protecting health care for our hard working families.

Greg Abbott is a lackey of Donald Trump.

He’s going against exactly what he said he would do last year.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on President Donald Trump's threats to jail him:

"He's demented, literally unhinged & this is somebody so insecure that he lashes out, pretending that he can come arrest people for no reason at all. He can't. He isn't going to do it. TACO. Trump Always Chickens Out."

NEW: A right-wing group known for pushing states to purge their voter rolls wants SCOTUS to turn a landmark pro-voter law into a weapon for mass voter removals.

If SCOTUS agrees, anti-voting groups could be empowered to sue states into aggressive purges with ease.

A lot of the photos in my collection aren’t perfectly in focus, but I have to buy them anyway because it was still a kitty that somebody loved! Besides, how could I resist the happy body language and little eyebrows on this one?

Seiya Suzuki's 117.3-mph double in 3rd inning is the 3rd-hardest-hit ball (regular season or playoffs) in Statcast Era (since 2015) for the Cubs. Only Kyle Schwarber has hit any harder (117.6 and 117.4 mph, both in 2019).

Our authoritarianism is run on clichés borrowed from the Eastern Europe of twenty years ago. Paid protestors, disloyal cities, evil Soros, vast conspiracies — it was all tiresome then and there, and now it’s pathetic.

Trump: "They're, like, insurrectionists, they're terrible people. But you really wonder why. Why are they doing it? What are they gaining? Other than they're obviously paid. They're paid a lot of money."
