When you could code silly quizzes on Facebook, it was FULL of "what would you be in medieval times?!" etc.

I made one that nearly always answered "died as a child", "died in childbirth", "lived and died as a servant"

People got SUPER mad with it.

Does anyone with any knowledge of Tidal know what the intention is of the "AI Tools" and "AI Content" provisions in the new ToS? It looks like they're about to introduce slop-creation-on-demand which is the exact opposite of what I want from a music service that I chose because they paid artists

Which other species and ecosystems do you consider disposable and what is an acceptable level of shit in a river to you? The snail is an indicator species for water quality in the catchment where the development is.

This is depressing in and of itself — property developers are capitalists who only care about profit! Why are you helping them??? — but it’s also depressing because of the complete lack of curiosity it seems to betray. No sense of *why* these elements of the planning system might exist.

I don't want to get all Chesterton's Fence here, but if you don't understand that a "microscopic snail" is an indicator species that's protected for the health of the entire ecosystem, you probably shouldn't be forming "good relationships" with developers

Why shouldn't they though? Protected species are protected because they're rare and only occur in a limited number of places. There's always other sites suitable for development a short distance away, they just might not be owned by the particular developer who wants to flatten the newts

This btw to me is absolutely *mind boggling*: there were Scottish Greens pointing to (genuine, serious) SNP failings on trans rights and healthcare as part of the final anti-BHA push, but now wanting to buy into a project that has bent over backwards to accommodate and centre a transphobic MP. Odd!

I frankly think it's wishful thinking for YP, a Westminster reaction to Westminster conflicts *that can't even draw a line on transphobia*, to do vastly better than that at Holyrood, thinking spurred by moving in self-confirmatory bubbles and fundamentally unserious views of how government works.

Part of the curse is that several of the rightmost columns of the year grid are inaccessible if the viewport is not wide enough, such as in firefox on my pixel 8
