In a city where I think soccer genuinely is the 2nd most popular sport after American football, this really takes some doing. It's hard to be as bad at running a soccer team as DC United has been under its current ownership.
D.C. United home attendance in 2025 fell 9.6 percent to 16,389, fourth worst in MLS. Lower attendance means lower ticket revenue. Hence, the decision to play the Miami match at high prices in Baltimore (capacity: 71,000).
