The notion of a "guilty pleasure" is utter fucking horseshit. If it gives you pleasure, and nobody is being harmed by your enjoyment of it, then you have jack-shit to feel guilty about.

I can already feel myself getting ready to do this on a project I'm currently working on and actively combatting it. I hate this habit.
The most important artistic advice I can impart on people is to stop saying self-depreciating things about your work when you show it to people. Break the habit, it’s not funny, it’s not cute, it’s impulsive self-harm we do to try to take away the power other people could have to bruise our egos.
