I’ve been trying to avoid it but I think I’m going to have to write about that essay. Organizational demographics and field studies show it is very wrong, but white supremacist myths don’t stick because they are right. This one sticks because it flatters people who see jobs as their prerogative.

I mean how many times have you decided to veer into opposing traffic at the last second to cause your own death? And of course that explains why the driver would leave the scene. And if you get hit head on by a 6000 pound Chevy, it's really important to ask if you were wearing a styrofoam cap!!

there was this show on MTV in the late 90s called Downtown that's like if Ralph Bakshi tried making Daria and it's all been lost to time, no DVD releases or streaming, but some industrious soul put a bunch of the episodes up on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MiF...

ALERT! 🚨🚨 ICE is in Northeast LA today abducting people. They’ve been seen so far at the Eagle rock target, Glendale Galleria, & the division and Cyprus area. Please spread the word. And please sign up for a neighborhood patrol or find a way to help protect your community from these monsters.

The rinsing rice "debate" became so contentious in our house that I had to drop it and deal with mushy rice for a while when I wasn't the one cooking dinner.

the birthright clause was not just written to wipe dred scott off of the books, it was written to repudiate the *idea* behind dred scott, you might say the larger *ideological project* of dred scott. and the whole of section 1 of the 14th amendment is a constitutional statement of political equality

What a lede on this story: Man who complained about narrowing a road in order to protect pedestrians, so much that the city eventually reversed the change, then kills a woman on that very road with his car www.washingtonpost.com/business/int...
America’s plan to protect pedestrians failed. A young woman’s death reveals why.
U.S. officials adopted Europe's Vision Zero initiative, but many cities have seen an increase in pedestrian fatalities despite efforts to improve road safety.

Even though they won't allow the #CDC to commemorate World AIDS Day, we should all acknowledge the progress we've made, the work that still needs to be done and mourn those lost. #WorldAIDSDay #HIV #AIDS
A sad bonus:

Here’s CDC’s World AIDS Day page from last year
www.cdc.gov/world-aids-d...

— back before the site was hijacked by Trump’s stooges who don’t care about public health or people.

It’s a reminder of what we’re fighting to get back.
