The ACLU of Minnesota and several law firms filed the suit Wednesday on behalf of six Minnesotans who say they’ve been detained or threatened by federal agents while lawfully observing ICE operations, including Susan Tincher of Minneapolis who was detained when she confronted ICE agents.

It’s been a painful week. My mind is in a dozen places. Watching the helpers step in and show up has been a silver-lining to the cruelty our communities are witnessing here in MN. Hope leads by actions.

Someone asked me what victory against the forces seeking to occupy Chicago looks like. Obviously, those forces being repelled is the goal, but there are layers to what success looks like in these deteriorating conditions. The first is to successfully resist the normalization of military occupation.
