Dr. Kevin Tracey showed that the vagus nerve links the brain to the immune system.

One minute of daily stimulation can reduce inflammation and just got FDA approval for hard-to-treat rheumatoid arthritis.

His book was one of my favorites last year.

Yeah, what they said #LongCovid

“you wake up with a certain amount of energy currency each day (let’s say 100 units). A healthy person might have 1,000 units. Everything costs energy: showering 10, getting dressed 5, making breakfast 8, driving to work 15. Work shift 300 units”

Rome-based researchers studied 96 people post-COVID and found that those with long COVID showed a flattened daily cortisol rhythm.

Morning levels were low, evening levels were high, and severity of symptoms matched the degree of hormonal disruption.

Scientists just mapped tiny veins across the entire living human brain in under 7 minutes using ultra-high resolution MRI.

Previously this kind of detailed view was mainly built from postmortem (after death) methods.

Here’s what they did and why it matters.

UC Davis studied 11 cats with FIP and found the virus infects not just macrophages but also T and B cells.

It replicates inside lymphocytes and can linger even after treatment, offering clues to how long COVID might persist in humans.

New important publication in #LongCovid & #MECFS!

After a viral infection, cells lining our blood vessels can become damaged and enter senescence, similar to accelerated aging. These cells are not healthy, but they also don’t disappear. Instead, they send out constant stress & inflammatory signals.

Some Swedish researchers are hard at work to revive the pseudoscience of "illness prone personality" of Eysenck, now considered unsafe, as well as the BPS model (hysteria), applied for long covid & ME.
Swedish research on long Covid likes to revive pseudoscience:
"The symptoms commonly reported by PCC patients align with cultural narratives surrounding high-achieving women who ultimately experience collapse under cumulative pressure which has been a recurrent theme in the media."
Hysteria anyone?
