This profile tells some of Powers story - born into slavery near Athens, GA, Harriet learned to sew as a child, a skill that became her livelihood after emancipation - and includes an image of the original quilt as well as the only known photograph of Powers from 1901.

None of these Republicans and most of these Democrats are not all of a sudden “seeing the light on ICE.” They simply understand the worm turning on public opinion and saving face. They will ALL go back to voting for minority brutalization as soon as they can. You can’t keep falling for this.
