At the end of the day, you can’t control if there’s a market to sell your story to, if it will buy your story, or if its readers will like it. The only thing you can control is whether *you* like it.
Write the stories you want to write. Because then, no matter what happens, no matter what markets are or aren’t there, you’ll at least have written the stories you want to write.

Outline if you want to get faster. No, actually. Not if outlining makes working on the book like pulling teeth. For me (and many, many others) simply getting in there and writing is more efficient. I have to see the whole thing to know if it works.

When I hear "there's no gay romance" "m/m was created by women" "romance is for women" I think of the number of author bios in the back of "Best Gay Romance" books, or magazines, especially the 90s, ending with notations of when those authors died and I get so fucking angry I cannot even tell you.
