They want to rehabilitate sex creeps and criminals because of some combination of the following: a) they've got something in their own past they don't want to have bring them down, b) they want the creep prerogatives that used to come with the gig, c) they're just plain sexist motherfuckers
I'm flummoxed by the underground movement to rehab cancelled figures. There's a rumor that a studio head is planning to begin bringing cancelled people back. It's bananas. The industry has contracted, leaving writers, directors and actors scrambling for work and we're making space for sex criminals?

OH! The guy who voiced the main demon (gwi-ma) in K-Pop Demon Hunters was in JSA (Joint Security Area)

doesn’t explain why his voice sounds familiar (since I saw JSA 25 years ago), but very cool.

I did not know this!
RIP Tom Stoppard.

Hardly his most important work, but I remember having my mind blown by learning he had rewritten most of the dialogue on INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE, one of the funniest movies ever made

RIP to Stoppard and this seems a fine time to tout the existence of this delightful short story, “We Haven’t Got There Yet” by Harry Turtledove. reactormag.com/we-havent-go...

Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

A bunch of folks have noted their meals cooked unexpectedly quickly. I assume coincidences and weather or something but I did wonder if there could be widespread scale fraud or similar hijinx because in this regulatory climate, they could probably get away with it.

Positive health news.
Brazil approves the first vaccine against dengue. The disease killed 6000 Brazilians in 2024.

This is a really remarkable achievement. I got dengue in 2015, and even with the mild case I had, it was a really miserable experience.

“Truth emerges from her instant noodles to shame mankind”

(Just to add Alt text - pic is shelves full of cup-of-noodles in some kind of small store and big cat is stretching his front legs as he emerges from behind the instant noodles)

@swiftonsecurity.com I realized recently that any relationship (particularly romantic) that happened before I got drugs and therapy was absolutely me playing on hard mode. I couldn’t have started my current relationship earlier than I did or we’d have totally gone off the rails.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have developed a heteromultivalent nanogel capable of killing some of the most dangerous bacteria known to medicine- with over 99.9% effectiveness against P. aeruginosa. It also showed strong antibacterial effects against other major threats, including E. coli and MRSA.

Clarification incoming!
Since I don’t want to steal credit from my friend Charlie Pellett, I do want to point out that he is the one that says “Stand clear of the closing doors, please.” I’m the voice that you were hear in the numbered line stations telling you how long before your train arrives.
November 24, 2025 at 9:57 PM
One of my favorite lines I use when trying for support (or whatever) escalation is “I’m sorry, I’m upset and you’re not paid enough to deal with me being upset. Can I talk to someone who is?”
Very tired of people taking maximalist political philosophies and applying them to individual interactions

It's the same as people yelling at receptionists. You're mad at the institution, not this individual

One of my favorite things is getting to tell friends who are new to NYC that the subway "stand clear of the closing doors please" voice is a trans woman named Bernie Wagenblast and she's amazing.
