1. Protests are happening literally every day these days. Trans rights protests. Protests against Musk. Heck, over a thousand people showed up for a protest at the Treasury.

I advise everyone, especially people who don't usually, to find any of them and just go to one.

It's important.

Every artist I know is really struggling right now. Financially, emotionally, their confidence, in general.

If you like an artist's work, support them any way you can. Buying their stuff or subscribing to their Patreon is great, but words of encouragement are also incredibly helpful.

This is such a great idea! We didn't see it in time to steal it for tomorrow, but wanted to hype a friend doing something cool. We're still working on some things, so stay tuned!
Huge thanks to @martharichart.bsky.social for posting this illustration. In support of the economic boycott on Friday, we will be donating 10% of that day's sales to the organization Unite Against Book Bans.

If you want to show your opposition to banned books, please look on lists for *living authors*, particularly queer authors and authors of colour. John Steinbeck and Harper Lee don’t need your money. Living authors do.
A Friday reminder that having your book banned doesn't sell books.

Only THE MOST banned books see support, and I assure you all those creators would prefer their books were NOT banned instead.

There's no silver lining. It's just the knowledge that ppl hate you!

Ok have a good weekend

And let me put an even sharper point on this:

Oppressed people have lived OFTEN with the TOTALITY of formal information coming directly from their oppressors.

And they have STILL fought for liberation, again and again and again.
You know, social media sucks and all, but I am very tired of all this doomer shit I'm seeing everywhere that's like "oh well can't counter social media misinformation, it's too hard, the world is over"

Bad guy domination of mass media is not historically unprecedented. Go build relationships

It's always been the case that "buying" an ebook from amazon was only actually a loan they could rescind at any point, but lately Amazon have gone harder on this, and it is 100% so that they can wipe banned books from your libraries without your consent.

Buy direct from authors. Get your files.

For the last couple of years, library workers have been begging and pleading for attention on this. If you think this won't happen in your community, guess what, it will. You *have* to get involved. Now. Don't wait until the ban is in place.
With a press release titled “U.S. Department of Education Ends Biden’s Book Ban Hoax,” the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (DOE OCR) has dismissed all complaints of book banning that it had been investigating.

apropos of nothing: all art, regardless about how you feel about it or if you find it yucky, should be legal to make. saying otherwise sets an extremely dangerous precedent and they will come for you and your squeaky clean queer artwork too (they are already trying). you are not immune.

Reskeet this until it breaks. Then reskeet it again.

We need to flood Congress with phone calls TODAY to make sure they don't slip the dangerous and misguided Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) into a must-pass year end bill.

This bill would make kids LESS safe and threatens LGBTQ ppl & human rights.

I just galaxy-brained at the media creation concept of "Death of the Audience."
A big part of my growth as both an artist and writer, esp with my comics, is no longer caring what an audience thinks of my work. Tyree is some of my best work BECAUSE it is specifically for myself and experimental. Some of my favorite indie comics follow this method as well.
