And Renee Good’s last words appear to be “We’re not mad at you.”
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

“make big tech afraid” has to be just as much of a priority as “prosecute the criminals of the previous regime” for the next Dem admin

the tech fascists are way too far out over their skis and what remains of global stability will not survive that state of affairs continuing
As many have pointed out, there's no reason for big tech to change its behavior because they correctly understand that they have nothing to fear from Democrats taking power

Commentators have to stop describing these rebukes of Trump as rare. The Senate voted to roll back his tariffs. Both chambers delivered a historic rebuke on the Epstein files. The House is voting this week to undo part of his health care agenda and override two vetoes. His coalition is fraying.
NEWS: Senate votes 52-47 to advance a measure restricting Trump's power to use military force in Venezuela.

A rare warning shot from Congress to Trump as he dials up foreign rhetoric.

Voting YES: Democrats + Rand Paul, Collins, Murkowski, Young, Hawley.

Senate advances measure to restrict Trump's power to use military force in Venezuela
Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine, who led the bipartisan resolution, said that Trump's actions in Venezuela are "clearly illegal" because he did not seek congressional approval.

Understand that State Media messaging has two layers:

1. The murderer was acting in self-defense.
2. Whatever the victim did — brush him with her care, block ICE vehicles, try to get away — merited summary execution.
This is very good from WaPo. Note position of officer's feet to side of car when first shot is fired. I think everyone defending this should be asked: Was it not even an *overreaction* to fire those shots, especially 2 & 3, into her face point-blank with the officer clearly not in danger? Really?

I've been saying Democrats should be threatening Bukele constantly with a CIA coup.
After Bukele endorsed Trump's intervention in Venezuela, Senator Ruben Gallego asked if Bukele would be okay if the US invaded El Salvador to extradite him.

China could've had it in the bag as new leader of the world order *right the fuck now* if they'd made some different choices. Breaking ties with North Korea, distancing themselves from Russia as Putin went insane, not rattling the saber at their own neighbors.

But they did stupid evil shit too.

Look, the West Bank and Gaza should be sovereign states (or at least integrated into a state/
confederation) & fuck Netanyahu's crimes against humanity.

That said I feel A Way about how released hostages keep saying "yeah we were tortured, starved & assaulted daily" to resounding crickets on here.

yep. i can identify any number of structural issues but at the end of the day the basic problem is the republican party. this has been apparent for at least 20 years. it is also an incredibly unpopular observation to make among “serious” people.
Right.

If you want a good explanation of why the American system of government worked well enough for 200 years and then suddenly stopped, it's because Republicans in Congress suddenly started letting their partisan interests COMPLETELY override their institutional interests
a lot of problems wouldn't exist if we had a congress with even an ounce of self interest

I think it’s a horror how everyone memory holed a million people dying. That and treating people like me who live in NNJ, that got hit hard … first like it was all a lie and scam.

It was easier for people to pretend it never happened. At least in movies that doesn’t happen.

So I’ll pass too.

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.
